    • National Nylon Stocking Day
      • In 1939 DuPont Introduced Nylon, which began a high demand for Stockings.  During World War Two DuPont ceased its production of Nylon Stockings in order to concentrate on making parachutes for the Military.  After the war DuPont Started to produce Nylon Stockings again but could not keep up with the Demand, this started the Nylon Riots.

    • Peace Officers Memorial Day
      • Part of Police week, which pays tribute to local, state and federal law enforcement officers.
      • It was created when congress asked the president to designate May 15 to honor peace officers, it became law on October 1 1962 when president Kennedy Signed the bill into law.
      • In 1994 President Clinton signed a amendment to the law that directed all United States flags be flown at half staff on May 15

    • on May 15 1948 Israel Independence 15th May 1948 : Israel declares independence on May 14, 1948, and one day later the new state of Israel is attacked by Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq which lasted almost a year, a cease fire was declared and temporary borders, known as the Green Line, were instituted. The creation of Israel as an independent state had been rejected by The Arab League from the very beginning.
